MY JOURNEY
Meet Hannah Jane
A Math Educator turned Digital Strategist
From Classroom to Command Line
Hi, my name is Hannah Jane, and I am a Web Designer and an SEO Specialist. My career didn’t begin in a tech conference—it started in a private school classroom. Armed with a license as a Professional Teacher and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, with six years of teaching experience, I spent my days guiding students through complex equations and nurturing their logical problem-solving skills.
Simultaneously, I’ve tutored international students across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines via Upwork. While I cherished every “aha” moment, I also yearned for a fresh challenge that would let me apply analytical rigor to the digital world.
These experiences I had reinforced one truth: the most effective solutions rest on clear communication, data-driven insights, and a deep understanding of each client’s goals.
“After six years teaching private-school math and honing clear, analytical problem-solving, I dove into WordPress to apply that same rigor to speed-optimizing and SEO-enhancing real-world websites.”
SEO Specialist and Web Designer
Diving into WordPress and Web Design
My four years as a WordPress and SEO Assistant at Castle Web Services laid the foundation for my expertise, conducting technical audits, optimizing site architecture, and implementing content strategies for diverse clients. To deepen my skills, I completed an intensive six-week training with Pinoy SEO and SOVA, under Coach Leandro Padilla (May–June 2025), where I mastered advanced on-page SEO techniques, performance tuning, and keyword research. Each project and training session reinforced how strategic optimizations—in content, site structure, and speed—drive measurable growth in organic traffic.
Community & Conferences: Accelerating Growth
No one thrives in isolation. I joined WordPress meetups in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro to collaborate on custom themes and on-page SEO tactics. In February 2025, I attended WordCamp Asia in Manila—rubbing elbows with WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg, accessibility expert Birgit Pauli-Haack, and plugin developer Abhishek Rijal was transformative. I also absorbed insights from YouTube educators Rino de Boer, Jamie Marsland, Christian Taylor, and Darrel Wilson, plus speakers Katie Keith, Nirmal Desai, Riad Benguella, Jo Minney, and James Giroux. These experiences reshaped my approach to SEO strategy, performance tuning, and user-first design.
